Meet the Founder

Cynthia Seymour is the visionary founder behind Saint Maur, a luxury shoe brand dedicated to celebrating and empowering BIPOC individuals. With a passion for both fashion and social justice, Seymour established Saint Maur with the mission of creating footwear that not only exudes elegance but also promotes inclusivity and diversity.

Drawing inspiration from her own experiences and the vibrant cultures of the Caribbean, Seymour forged a unique partnership with creatives from Ghana to bring her vision to life. Collaborating with artisans and designers in Ghana, Saint Maur combines exquisite craftsmanship with cultural richness, resulting in stunning footwear that reflects the beauty and heritage of the African continent.

Seymour’s ties to Ghana also hold a special significance, as the country shares historical connections with her native Bahamas. Through Saint Maur, she seeks to honor these cultural links and foster greater awareness and appreciation for the shared heritage of both regions.

In the lively streets of Korle-Gono, Ghana, there’s a man named Mr. Barimah. Since 2005, he’s been crafting shoes with a passion that’s unmatched. He started small, in a little shack, but his dedication turned his dream into a reality—a showroom right in his neighborhood.

Mr. Barimah’s shoes aren’t just footwear; they’re a symbol of his journey. From his modest beginnings, he’s become known for his quality work. His showroom isn’t just a place to display shoes; it’s a beacon of hope for others like him, showing that dreams can come true.

For Mr. Barimah, making shoes isn’t just about fashion—it’s about solving problems and inspiring others. He’s proof that with hard work and belief in yourself, anything is possible.

As the day ends in Korle-Gono, Mr. Barimah’s story reminds us that greatness starts with a single step—and he’s taken many.
